Connect to Online Bookkeeping

Instantly connect to QuickBooks Online or Xero accounts to pull in the financial data for as many periods as you like. If you don’t have live access to the bookkeeping accounts you can import the data using a Xero trial balance  export, or you can use the excel import template we provide, or even enter the data directly on the screen from scratch. You can mix and match the import methods for an entity for different periods and you can add more periods or overwrite past periods as you need. You can import budgets and forecasts using the import template we provide.

Budget Vs Actual Reports

Budgets can be created for any entity in the Pro Analytics subscription. The budget data can be imported using the excel template we provide or by manually entering on the screen. Once budgets are setup, you can generate Budget vs Actual reports such as P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, KPI’s, Ratios and Charts. You can use the 3-way Forecasting module to explore different scenarios to get inspiration for your budgets.

Custom Charts & Custom Tables

A custom chart builder is included in the Pro Analytics subscription. Line or bar charts can be made from any data available for the entity or consolidated business, including custom KPI’s and custom ratios you’ve created. Custom charts can be added to any report, included as their own report or exported as an image to be used outside the software. Create a custom table from scratch or import one from a csv. Custom tables act like a spreadsheet and can include cell references and common formulas such as sum, mean, mode, median, min, max and round.  The format and style of custom tables can be modified in various ways to suit your needs and can be included in a custom report to be included in your report packs.

Business Analytics Questionnaires

Use one of the built-in questionnaire templates or create your own. Share the questionnaire in the secure client portal to let your client answer the questions and upload supporting documents at their own pace. Multiple stakeholders can answer the same questions with each of their answers attributed and timestamped. Multiple questionnaires can be created in the course of a single job as more questions arise. Quick questions can be added on the fly from any part of the software and can be notified to one or more stakeholders when ready to be answered. If the clients are not tech savvy you can even export the questionnaires as word or pdf documents and email or post them instead.

Data Validation Checks

With the press of a button Analytics Ultimate will run a series of tests inspecting key aspects of the structure and the fine detail of your analytics job for possible errors and suggested areas of improvement. A detailed report is displayed showing fails, suggestions and passes at the job, entity and scenario levels. Each entity and each scenario will have their own validation checks done. If potential fails or suggestions are flagged the accompanying message will provide detail on why the issue was triggered and how to rectify it. This feature is an important part of any valuation job workflow especially for users who are new to the software or if they are inexperienced in valuations generally.

Internal Review Notes

Manager review notes can be added from any part of the job. Review notes are for internal purposes and are a great tool if the analytics is being done by a team. A common use-case is for the manager to make review points when reviewing the work of junior analysts or contractors. The juniors or contractors then read the review points, make the required changes and complete the task. Review notes are also great for a sole analyst to make notes on things to come back to before they complete the report.

Normalization Adjustments

This feature is unique and exclusive to Analytics Ultimate. Easily create normalization adjustments for any entity or consolidated group at the account-by-account level. Instantly generate before and after normalization versions of all reports to see the impact of the adjustments, not just on the bottom line, but on the full P&L, Cash Flow, Ratios and Charts. Create owner compensation adjustments for each working owner to see the underlying profit before and after market salaries. You can even create multiple scenarios with different adjustments in each scenario. Any adjustments in a scenario do not affect the actual source data which is always kept in its original form as a source of truth.

3-Way Forecast Module

Forecasts can be explored and set for any entity or consolidated business. All forecasts are 3-way, meaning they always include the P&L, balance sheet and cash flows. You can generate forecasts automatically using past periods and setting various assumptions. The system will automatically generate the full balance sheet, using past debtor days etc to build the expected balances. Any automatically generated forecasts can be modified as you need. You also have the option to import forecasts from scratch using our import template or manually input the forecasts on the screen. Forecasts are also used to extrapolate part-years into full-year equivalents so that the current part-year can be compared against previous full years. Every forecast automatically generates a comprehensive forecast report that shows all assumptions and comments made by the advisor.

Custom Reports & Templates

One the best features of Analytics Ultimate is the ability to modify the built-in reports and create your own custom reports from scratch. Custom reports can even be loaded from a firm template you created previously. Custom reports can have the following types of content:

KPI's & Custom Ratios

Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) are the data points that aren’t included on the financial statements but you can budget and track against the actual results to understand the performance of the business or to look for leading or lagging indicators. In Analytics Ultimate you can create as many KPI’s as you like for each Entity.  You can also create custom ratios based on KPI’s or any other data type in the system. For example you might want to track total operating revenue per full time employee or quotes won vs quotes issues. KPI’s and Custom Ratios are very powerful features to keep an eye on underlying business performance.

Unlimited Scenarios

Create as many scenarios as you like to explore the data and to generate different data based on different sets of assumptions. Scenarios are used for creating normalization adjustments and forecasts. Once a scenario is created, the system will generate a suite of reports automatically for each scenario and those reports will be included in the report pack. Any changes in a scenario do not affect the actual source data which is always kept in its original form as a source of truth.

Secure Client Portal

Clients (or more broadly referred to as stakeholders) can be provided with access to the secure client portal to answer questions, upload documents and access any published reports. Clients and stakeholders can only see the client portal section of the software, within the job they have been invited to. The advisor can see a live audit trail of stakeholders logging into the portal, uploading and download documents. Portal access is protected by 2-factor authentication.

Internal Analytics Checklists

You can create internal checklists for yourself or your staff to follow in Analytics Ultimate. Checklists are a great accountability and training tool for inexperienced staff members preparing the reports under the supervision of their manager. Each checklist item can be checked off by the user (with an automatic timestamp) and comments can optionally be added for further detail.

An advisor Firm can have any number of firm members. Firm members are typically employees or contractors of the firm. A firm administrator can modify the access of each firm member to limit their visibility to certain jobs and to control who can create new jobs. A firm can have one or more administrators who have full access rights.
